I have clinical experience working on a variety of mental health issues such as ADHD, adjustment disorder, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, and family conflict resolution. I work with children, and adults, offering individual, couples and family counseling. I also help individuals who are struggling with relationship problems, life changes, anger management, decision making skills, and self-esteem issues.
Together we can work on improving your wellness, and regaining confidence in living a happy, and healthy lifestyle. Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or schedule an appointment online here.
I am a licensed, certified, clinical social worker with over fifteen years of experience working with children and families. I have also enjoyed working in the field of Gerontology. My treatment modality depends on factors including the family’s needs and problems as well as their strengths. Each client and family is unique and will be treated with an individualized plan that we construct and implement together. During my almost ten years in specializing in child play therapy and parental guidance it was especially gratifying to help facilitate developing strengths.
If your child is challenged by ADHD, anxiety, depression, problems regarding self image, interaction with peers, or other adjustment difficulties I am available to work with both child and parent to increase coping skills and offer strategies to optimize family functioning.
I utilize child development theories, attachment theory, family systems therapy, strategic family therapy, and psychodynamic child play therapy. I believe strengths develop through empathic connections.

I have always had a passion to help others and am motivated by seeing the positive transformation that an individual undergoes during therapy. I am originally from Philadelphia, PA but migrated down the 1-95 corridor to receive my Bachelor’s Degree from Towson University in Psychology and my Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University. I worked after graduate school in an outpatient substance abuse facility in Northern Virginia and recently moved back to the Baltimore region to join The Zen Life Wellness Community for private practice and holistic counseling. I am licensed in Maryland as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
I have clinical experience working in a variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities. I work with adults, offering individual, couples and family counseling. My specialties are substance abuse/chemical dependence, anxiety disorders, depression, pain management, Bipolar disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and dual diagnosis. I also treat individuals who want help with relationship problems, grief and loss, life/transition changes, anger management techniques, decision making skills and stress management.
I believe in a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling. Although I base my counseling approach off many therapeutic schools of thought, I mainly utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques. I believe in a multi-dimensional approach to healing and strongly believe that the mind and body are interconnected in ways beyond our understanding. Thus, I support a balanced treatment plan derived from both Eastern and Western schools of thought. I take an active approach in the therapy session and will help you develop a toolkit of coping skills to manage your emotions and thoughts. I teach a variety of breathing exercises, meditations and mindfulness techniques that will provide you with instant stress relief and relaxation. Although I fully support psychotropic medications as effective solutions to mental health issues, I also encourage my clients to explore alternative treatment options to pharmaceutical medications. I strongly believe in the healing properties of yoga, meditation, nutrition, acupuncture, physical therapy, essential oils, aromatherapy and Reiki/Healing Touch and will encourage my clients to seek out these therapies in conjunction to counseling.
As a Substance Abuse Counselor, I specialize in helping individuals find alternative ways to manage chronic pain and illnesses that do not include prescription pain killers. I will work with your doctor to help you devise a treatment plan to taper off addictive medications so that you find pain relief through meditation, counseling, progressive muscle relaxations, and mind-body techniques. I strongly encourage involving other health professionals in your care, such as chiropractors, acupuncturists, physical therapists, as they offer non-medication solutions to managing pain. Additionally, I am also a good counseling resource for individuals with legal system involvement for substance abuse related charges. I can conduct substance abuse evaluations and provide letters to your attorney, probation officer or the court for treatment compliance. I work with clients facing substance abuse related charges such as DUI’s, DWI’s, alcohol citations, prescription drug fraud, possession and distribution charges.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) serving children, adults, and couples. I was raised in Florida and attended a small college in South Carolina named Erskine for undergraduate studies. I traveled on to Loyola College of Maryland for my Masters in Counseling Psychology. I have been working with families since 2001, and specialize in managing the stresses of the modern family.
I consider myself an eclectic therapist, as I feel something valuable can be learned from all the therapeutic schools of thought such as cognitive-behavioral, psychoanalytic, and solution focused therapies. I concentrate on the methods that have proven effective. I use a lot of cognitive behavioral techniques, and some good old-fashioned psychoanalysis (for getting to the root of the issue before moving onto the fix it stage). I stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends so I can present that information to my clients.
In addition to the main Zen Life Wellness phone number, I can also be contacted at 443-790-0374 and firstname.lastname@example.org .
I am most interested in the intersection of what you care about or are meant to do in life with concrete practical ways of making it happen. I like to find concrete practical exercises that you can do to improve life. I work with adults on lots of conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I tend towards mindfulness, spiritual/existential approaches, and how thoughts effect feelings (cognitive-behavioral approaches). I can listen or more actively brainstorm solutions with you.
I am a graduate of the Johns Hopkins Clinical Community Counseling Program and also hold their Post-Graduate Certificate in Spiritual & Existential Counseling. In addition to the main Zen Life phone number, I can also be reached through 877-823-3439 and email@example.com .
